Lock the Door!

On Saturday morning Shawn was outside mowing, Micah Claire was playing in the dinning room and I was cleaning in the living room. I heard the back open a little; I assumed it was Shawn coming in to get some water. After a few seconds I noticed that he wasn't coming in and that the door was still slowly opening. Luckily, I got up to investigate. Micah Claire had opened the door and had taken one step out the door. If you know our house, you know that right out that door is over a 3 1/2 foot drop to the carport. It scared me to death.! I thought there is no way that kid just opened that door; Shawn must have not shut it completely on his way out. So I brought her back inside and shut the door. She easily reached up and pulled the door handle down and open popped the door. YIKES!!!!!!!!! Well, I was in such a hurry Monday that I quickly dropped her off at Nana's (forgetting to tell her Micah Claire's newest trick). By the time I got back for lunch my mom was beside herself. She said did you know she can open doors now? Oops, I forgot to tell ya. Mom said Micah Claire was playing in the kitchen and next thing she knew, Micah Claire was trying to walk the front door. This week Micah Claire has masted the art of climbing up on the chair, but she hasn't' mastered the art of getting down. So, we have had a few big falls this week. You can see from this picture that is SUPER proud of herself for being able to climb up and sit in her daddy's chair. On Tuesday night Nana thought it was time to try out the ponytail look on Micah Claire. Needless to say there wasn't a whole lot of hair to put in the ponytail, but it still came out cute. We call this her Pebbles look!

I if you know me well at all, you know that I am the biggest chocolate lover in the world. On Sunday I had my typical chocolate craving. So, I decided to make my self a little bowl of chocolate icing. Now that Micah Claire understand eating, she will grab for foods when she sees them. But, I thought I was safe because the icing was in a bowl and she couldn't see into. Well.... I was wrong. She got a handful of icing and immediately stuck it in her mouth. Needless to say it was LOVE at first taste. She was laughing, saying YUM and rubbing her belly all the same time. Her little eyes lite up like it was the 4th of July! I gave her two more small taste of it and she just squealed every time. I just had to get a picture of her messy little chocolate face. It's a little blurry because she was chasing after me trying to get more icing. God Bless her, I think she's gonna be a choc-a-holic just like her mom.

1st Trip to Deer Camp

This past Saurday Micah Claire made her 1st trip out to her Daddy's deer camp. Even though it was hot and humid, she still had a great time.

Micah Claire is trying more & more table foods now. On Sunday night she got to try meat loaf. She would suck the spaghetti sauce & cheese off and eat it and then spit the meat back out. On Monday night Micah Claire had her 1st taste of my chicken spaghetti. She took right to it, but she kept taking lots of drinks while eat (which is unusal for her). Then Shawn said, I can't believe she' eating that with it being so hot. I about fell out of my chair. I completly forgot that it had Rotel in it. No wonder she was drinking so much water; the poor girl was on fire (bad mom).

At last..........

It seems like it's taken forever, but Micah Claire is finally saying "MOMMA!" This morning while I was getting ready for work she grabbed my leg and and Momma! It just melted my heart (still wish she would have said it before she said Daddy, but oh well).

She is now officially off her passy!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday she found the clip that her passy use to be clipped to and she kept looking at it; like where in the heck is the passy. When she's falling asleep she still smacks like she's sucking on it (it's tooooo cute)!

On Saturday Micah Claire went to the lake for the first time. She loved the water and the waves. But within five minutes of being in water she fell dead asleep on Aunt Stacy's shoulder.

Here are some super cute pictures from this weekend!

It took 43 weeeks.....

It has taken Micah Claire 43 weeks, but she is finally sleeping all night!!!! I woke up at 4:00 am this morning and couldn't believe she hadn't made a peep all night. I thought for sure something must have been wrong with her, so jumped up to check on her. All I found was her peacefully sleeping. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Micah Claire is officially off the bottle. So now when she's at the babysitters she takes her breast milk from a sippy cup!!!!! Our next goal is to get her off the passy. Right now we are only giving to her when she is going to sleep. Now that she isn't allowed to have it during the day she is just chattering up a storm. Her new word is Nana and she is trying to say Elvis (Nana's cat). If she says that dang cat's name before she says Momma, I think my heart will break. I mean how hard is it to say Momma!

I can't believe that Micah Claire will turn 10 months old this Friday. Time is just flying by. She is becoming miss independent these days. She thinks she climb on to or off of anything in the world. And buddy don't make the mistake of trying to help her because she will shake her hands and squeal at you (it's really cute!). Two times this week I was telling her no,no,no and she shook her hand at me and said NO! I was so shocked and impressed that she No back to me that I couldn't get mad at her. Nana kept her last week and was telling her not throw food on the floor and she shook her finger at Nana and said NO! I am afraid she's gonna be sassy (like her daddy of course)!

If you know Micah Claire very well you know that she is VERY picky about who she lets hold her. Usually it just me, Shawn, Nana, or Mae Alice who are allowed to hold her. But, over the last 3 weeks, she has turned into Poppa's girl. She will let Poppa take her from me, she will leave the house with him, she will go ride the Rhino with him, she will go to the goat pen with him. Now when she sees him she will squeal really loud and throw her arms up in air for him to pick her up. They are so cute together. Here are some of their pictures!
