Lock the Door!

On Saturday morning Shawn was outside mowing, Micah Claire was playing in the dinning room and I was cleaning in the living room. I heard the back open a little; I assumed it was Shawn coming in to get some water. After a few seconds I noticed that he wasn't coming in and that the door was still slowly opening. Luckily, I got up to investigate. Micah Claire had opened the door and had taken one step out the door. If you know our house, you know that right out that door is over a 3 1/2 foot drop to the carport. It scared me to death.! I thought there is no way that kid just opened that door; Shawn must have not shut it completely on his way out. So I brought her back inside and shut the door. She easily reached up and pulled the door handle down and open popped the door. YIKES!!!!!!!!! Well, I was in such a hurry Monday that I quickly dropped her off at Nana's (forgetting to tell her Micah Claire's newest trick). By the time I got back for lunch my mom was beside herself. She said did you know she can open doors now? Oops, I forgot to tell ya. Mom said Micah Claire was playing in the kitchen and next thing she knew, Micah Claire was trying to walk the front door. This week Micah Claire has masted the art of climbing up on the chair, but she hasn't' mastered the art of getting down. So, we have had a few big falls this week. You can see from this picture that is SUPER proud of herself for being able to climb up and sit in her daddy's chair. On Tuesday night Nana thought it was time to try out the ponytail look on Micah Claire. Needless to say there wasn't a whole lot of hair to put in the ponytail, but it still came out cute. We call this her Pebbles look!

I if you know me well at all, you know that I am the biggest chocolate lover in the world. On Sunday I had my typical chocolate craving. So, I decided to make my self a little bowl of chocolate icing. Now that Micah Claire understand eating, she will grab for foods when she sees them. But, I thought I was safe because the icing was in a bowl and she couldn't see into. Well.... I was wrong. She got a handful of icing and immediately stuck it in her mouth. Needless to say it was LOVE at first taste. She was laughing, saying YUM and rubbing her belly all the same time. Her little eyes lite up like it was the 4th of July! I gave her two more small taste of it and she just squealed every time. I just had to get a picture of her messy little chocolate face. It's a little blurry because she was chasing after me trying to get more icing. God Bless her, I think she's gonna be a choc-a-holic just like her mom.

Brooke, I don't know how in the world you found my blog, but I am so glad that you did. It was so fun reading your comment. Micah Claire is so precious. I will definitely enjoy watching her grow, it will be fun keeping up! We are sure excited about our little blessing that is on her way. We are due in about 3 1/2 weeks.
