Micah Claire Has Moved Out

Two Saturdays ago we had cousin Colton's Razorback birthday party. This was Micah Claire's 1st time to get to wear her Razorback Cheerleader outfit (I have to say she looked really cute)! She had a great time at the party and even got to eat a bite of the Razorback cookie cake!

I have been begging Shawn to move Micah Claire's bed out of our room and into her own room. Well, he's always had some excuse as to why we shouldn't move her out yet. M.C. and I are both super light sleepers. So, we wake each one up several times a night. She was waking up at 6:30am with me (just b/c she heard me) and then would be super fussy all morning b/c she was still tired. But, last Sunday I finally put my foot down and told Shawn to move her out! He was reluctant but he did it. Her are some pictures from the big move!!!!!!!

So, Sunday night I rocked her to sleep and then headed for her room.around 7:30 pm It was much harder than I anticipated it was going to be. I stood right beside her bed just holding her, but I couldn't bring myself to put her in there. I was in there sooooo long that Shawn came to see what was going on. I guess he could tell by the look on my face that I was having second thoughts about the big move. He said, OH NO! I am not moving that bed again; this is what you wanted and you got it! So after a few more minutes I finally laid her down. I checked on her 4 times before I went to bed and I was up about every 2-3 hours checking in on her. Needless to say, I got very little sleep that night. Even though we have a monitor in her room, it just isn't the same as actually going and checking in on her. On Monday morning I had to go and wake the child up at 7:30am so that I could say bye before I left for work. I couldn't believe she slept that good and slept that long!! It's been over a week now and we've had no problems! She is sleeping sound a night long and sleeping till at least 7am!!!!! It took me about 4 nights to sleep all night, but I am finally sleeping too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This last Friday night Micah Claire's Mimi came to spend the night with us. She kept M.C while Shawn and I went out to eat ALL ALONE!!!!!!!! ( I have no idea what we use to do or talk about before this kid came along; we're now just boring old parents who talk about our kid all the time; but I wouldn't have it any other way!) Then on Saturday, MC stayed with her Nana and I got to go shopping ALL BY MYSELF!!!!! I left at 9:30 am and didn't get home till almost 6pm!!! I haven't' been shopping in almost 2 years, so I had a blast.

The Times, They are a changing

It's so hard to believe that may baby girl is one year old now. And on top of that, it seems that everything is changing. They are all small changes but when you add them up they are overwhelming this emotional mother!

Micah Claire is finally weaned. It took almost 2 weeks to get her to stop nursing; and believe you me it was not an easy two weeks (but we made it). I feel so blessed to been able to nurse her so long, but I am SUPER glad to have my body back! She is now on whole milk and loving it!

Now that Micah Claire is 1 and over 20 pounds she is now riding forwards in her car seat. She was so excited and absolutely loves riding forwards like a big girl (as you can see)! She waves at EVERY truck and car that we pass on the road.

We have also moved out of the highchair and into a big girl booster seat. And, we have turned Micah Claire lose with her silverware. Needless to say it's a work in progress.

We(and when I say we, I mean MC and me. Her daddy was to busy with work to come; how convenient for him!) had our 1 year shots last Friday and b/c MC is a big girl now she got the shots in her arms. Lets just say she didn't care for them one bit. She had bruises on her poor little arms for days! These where the hardest shots so far. Thank God she doesn't have any more till she's 4 years old!!!!!!!!!!!

MC is really starting to pick up words. It's so random how she will just throw a word out like it's not big deal. And she will now tell you if she has a poopy or wet diaper and if she needs a diaper change! Maybe potty training will come sooner and easier than I thought it would!!!! And if you see her throw her hands up and yell "DOWN," that's what her Nana & Poppa taught her to do when the Razorbacks score a touch down. ( I am afraid she will not being doing that to much this football season, but there's always hope!) Cousin Colton is having his Razorback birthday party this weekend, so MC will get to wear her new Razorback cheerleading outfit and matching hair bow!

Princess Micah Claire

I took last Thursday off from work to spend the day with Micah Claire on her 1st bday. We had a super busy day! We started off with our 1 year check up with Dr. Perrin. Everything went great! Dr. Perrin is having us do a blood test to test for any other allergies that Micah Claire may have. We decided not to do shots on her birthday,so we are doing them this week. We did find out one good thing that has come of this surprise egg allergy. MC can't have a MMR vaccine b/c it has egg in it. So, that means one less shot!!!

Then we went to see Ms. Lyndsey at Salon 620 for our first hair cut. I am not sure if a trim of the bangs and very few hairs on the neck count as a true hair cut, but I saved the hair anyways. I was really worried about how MC would do with getting her hair cut. I didn't know if she would or could be still enough for Lyndsey. But much to my surprise she did great. She just watched herself in the mirror and smiled the entire time (such a ham; like her daddy) I took my camera to document this special occasion, but I forgot to take actually take a picture (bad mom). But here is a picture of her trimmed hair right after we got home.

Then later that afternoon Micah Claire received a special delivery! Her Mimi and Poppa Mike sent her some balloons and a stuffed frog. MC had a ball playing with them (thanks Mimi & Poppa)

Then we had a birthday dinner at Nana and Poppa Stan's house. I couldn't stand MC not having a birthday cake on her actual bday. So, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a little cake just for her.

At first she was very hesistant about eating it!

But it was love after the first bite
Then Friday was our big Princess Birthday Party. We put balloons up outside on the post, so everyone could find the party place.

Then we hung our Princess banner up for all to see!
Next we decorated the Princess' high chair

After burgers, it was time for the cake!

(Mr. Greg made Micah Claire her very own princess cake!)

She didn't hesitate one bit, she dove right into this cake!

I don't know what I was thinking when I had black icing put on the cake. I won't make that mistake again. It was heck trying to clean her up!!!!!!

Finally it was time to open presents. Micah Claire is finally learning what presents are and how to open them; so it was enjoyable to watch her. Cousins Emily & Colton along with the Schee twins were on hand to help her open presents. I think it was a little over whelming for MC, but she still had a great time and got some great gifts!!!!!!!!!

Our First Trip to the ER & Our First Tip to the Zoo!

Sunday morning I decided to make biscuits, eggs and bacon. I also decided that since Micah Claire is going to be 1 year old in a few days and she’s had no problems with egg yolks that now would be a great time to introduce her to real eggs. (Boy was I Wrong) Thankfully I only put a few bites of egg on her highchair. Within a minute I said out loud, why is your mouth turning red. Shawn said, I bet it’s just her juice staining her mouth. Then within a few seconds her entire face was turning red. I jerked her up out of the highchair and called my mom. She was at our house within 2 minutes. By that time the rash has spread down MC’s arm and her chest. My mom immediately said; let’s go to the ER. Needless to say, I broke the seed limit to get there. By the time we got there she had whelps on her neck and the rash had spread up to her head. I was a nervous wreck. You know when you go to the ER they ask you all these dang questions and for the life of you, you can’t think of the answer b/c you’re so nervous. The lady checking us in asked MC’s birthday. I brilliantly said I have no idea but her birthday is in just a few days (aren’t I such a great mom!) By the time they got us back into the ER, MC’s little eyes where red and swollen. When I saw that, I just broke down into tears. My poor baby was in such distress and there was nothing I could do about it. The ER doctor said Micah Claire is most defiantly allergic to whole eggs. He said not to give her any more for at least one year and we might want to see an allergist. He said the allergy could worsen with time or she could completely out grow it. But, there is no way to predict what will happen, we will just have to wait it out. We are really hoping it’s just an allergy to whole eggs b/c she’s been able to eat things made with eggs with no problem. We are just so blessed that the allergic reaction did not affect her breathing. We were also told that we should avoid peanuts b/c there is a very strong chance she may also have a peanut allergy since she has an egg allergy. (If your worried that your little one might have a reaction to a new food, here’s a tip the ER doctor gave us: Take the new food and rub it on the child’s skin and see how the skin reacts. If nothing happens than chances are you child isn’t allergic to that food, neat!) Needless to say they gave her big girl does of Benedryl, which knocked her out for a while. So we missed Sunday school and Church. I told Shawn, I bet she did this on purpose so she wouldn’t have to go to the nursery during Sunday school, HAHA! (if you’ve bee reading our blog you know we’ve had a terrible time trying to get her to stay in nursery without one of us)

After Micah Claire woke from her nap, she was like new again! So later that afternoon we went to our family reunion. MC got to meet Will (her 2nd cousin by marriage). Will is 2 ½ years old and is full of life. The two of them had a great time chasing after one another and playing at the park!
We had planned on taking Micah Claire to the zoo on Thursday for her birthday. But, we decided to go Monday since it’s suppose to rain for several days this week. We had a great time! Micah Claire loved looking at all the animals. She’s at such a great age to go, because her attention span is so short. After 20 seconds of each animal she was ready to move one, so we didn’t have to spend a lot of time in one place! We thought she would fuss a lot since she didn’t sleep the entire way to Little Rock and we where there during her nap time. But, she didn’t. She hung in there like a trooper. When we were leaving Shawn put her on his shoulders to carry her out. He said, I think she’s asleep b/c she just put her head on mine. And sure enough she was out like a light. She didn’t even wake when we put her in the stroller or when we got her out the stroller and into the car seat. Here are some our pictures from the big zoo trip.
