So Much Exciting News To Share!!!!!

Since the day Micah Claire was born she’s been the youngest child on both sides of the family. Well…. that is all going to change this summer! We are so excited that Shawn’s sister Mandee, and her husband Jerry, will welcome a little baby into our family this summer. Now Micah Claire will actually get to be the “big cousin!”

About 2 weeks ago Micah Claire had a bit of some sort on her leg. Well apparently she picked at it and had a fever at the same time (probably from cutting teeth) which led to the bite turning into a virus. It looked terribly; but Dr. Ward said it was not as bad as it looked and she only needs to be on antibiotic for a few days. Well…. those few days of antibiotic caused a major diaper rash. I mean it was terrible! It took the 2 of us to hold her down when we had to change her diaper. She would just cry and scream NO! It was truly heart breaking. But, I am super happy to say it has finally cleared itself up! We had to let her go without a diaper as much as possible. I just couldn’t resist taking a few pictures of her cutie tootie hinny (she’ll probably want to kill me one day when she sees these).

I had no idea, but apparently she was peeing right as I was taking this picture. If you zoom in on it you can see it coming down and a little wet spot on the carpet!

As I mentioned she has been cutting more teeth; which hasn’t been bad at all (not normal at all for her). She now has her two bottom 12 month molars in! It so strange to see them when she laughs real big. She is really growing up these days. She has even started to put a few words together. She has said: bye Nana; bye poppa; hi daddy; and hi Bruce (our lab). She is just picking up words left and right these days and I tend to forget that. As you probably know I call Shawn, Willie; actually my entire family calls him that now; I guess it’s just catchy. Since the day Micah Claire’s been born he has made it VERY clear that she is to NEVER call him that. Well……….. Saturday night I was giving M.C. a bath and I noticed a little bruise on her ribs. Even though the child is very accident prone I didn’t remember any fall that might have caused that bruise; I wonder if Willie had. So I said Willie… and got no response. I thought maybe we was across the house so I yelled it a little louder; no answer. I thought okay maybe he’s stepped outside; so I yelled it a little louder a few more times. Now the entire time that I am hollering for him M.C. is yelling something too; but I wasn’t paying much mind to her b/c she babbles so much. I finally stopped and looked at her and said what it’s; what are you trying to tell momma. ....... And then she said it………….. Willweeee. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried not laugh but was so dang funny and so dang cute I couldn’t stop myself. When I finally calmed myself I said Micah Claire we can’t say that daddy will not be happy with mommy. She said it again and then fell out laughing. About that time Shawn came back into the house. I said Daddy could you come here. I have to tell you something….I told him the entire story. I could tell he wanted to be mad; but it was just too funny for him not to laugh. I guess my days of calling him Willie may be over for a while!

Last Friday I decided to go ahead and put up our Christmas tree! I love Christmas and every year it seems to go by faster and faster. So this year I thought I would get a jump start and put the tree up earlier than I ever have. Some days M.C. doesn’t pay it any attention but other days she tries to pull every ornament off the tree (which keeps mommy very busy). I haven’t had time to put up all the decorations around the house; but hopefully they will all be up soon! And I am super pumped to announce that I have ALL my Christmas shopping DONE! I have never in my life been finished this early so I am super happy!!!!!

This picture doesn't do my bow justice. I LOVE IT. Jeanette made it for me 2 years ago. (I swear the girl could give Martha Stewart a run for her money!)

And for the SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!!! My brother Eric has finally asked Ashley to marry him!!!! Ashley and I have been the best of friends for almost 9 years now; so I couldn’t imagine a more perfect person for Eric to marry. I have known for almost of month now that he was ready to pop the question. It has killed me to keep it from her. I have had to tell her soooo many lies that I was to the point where I couldn’t keep up with the lies. I have to say Eric planned the perfect engagement all by himself! He got her to go play golf (in super cold weather). At the 9th hole he placed the ring box down in the hole. So when Ashley hit her ball in (Which took forever; sorry Ashley but your just not a good golfer J ) she found the box. He then dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. She had no idea but all her friends and family and all his family was watching from the country club. So, we all came running out and congratulated them. Then we had finger foods and cake and spent a couple of hours celebrating. Poor Ashley was so excited she couldn’t eat. Here are some pictures from the big day!!! I hear they are thinking about a May wedding!!!!!!!!

Here is Eric moving the flag so he could drop the ring box down into the hole!

A little champagne toast for the newly engaged couple!

This cake was great!

Here they are cutting the cakeHere is me and my future SISTER-IN-LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is Ashley showing off her new ring! I have to say Eric did a great job picking out the ring!!

On the Go All Weekend

This past weekend was super busy for us! On Friday my office had our Thanksgiving meal; so Micah Claire and I went. She had a wonderful time trying new foods, meeting new people and running around. Then Friday afternoon we left for Tennessee. My Cousin Chris and his LONG time girlfriend Ellen finally decided to tie the knot! It was only suppose to take us 3 hours to get there; but a few wrong turns in Memphis pushed it to a 4 hour trip. But, Micah Claire did great! On Saturday she had a great time seeing family and meeting new family members. She has really started coming out of her shell these last few weeks. She let a few total strangers pick her up!!! And she got to meet a new friend; Eli (a cutie pie). Let me tell you these 2 were pretty much inseparable. It was so cute to watch them with one another. It's probably a good thing her daddy wasn't' there to see her flirting with him! Here are a few cute pictures of the 2 of them playing with one another. If he hugged her once, he hugged her a hundred times. SO SWEET!!!! (Don't worry Daddy they were supervised the entire date; I mean time)

Here is Micah Claire showing Eli how her booster seat works.

Micah Claire got attacked by Amy Jo the tickle queen!

Ben and Amy Jo are like my brother and sister; so it just melts my heat to see them all together!
Here is Nana trying to explain to M.C why we don't eat the chap stick.

Saturday night we left Tennessee and drove to my Granny house. To get there we had to drive right threw Tunica, MS (I had no idea that town had so many casinos). Micah Clarie was fascinated by all the bright lights along the casino trip; makes you wonder what in the world was going on in that little mind of hers. On Sunday we all went to my grandparents church. The Knights of Columbus gave my Granny a special presentation and gift in memory of my late Papaw. It was a nice ceremony, but super emotional. I wish that Micah Clarie had more time to know him. He is probably one of the greatest men I have known.

Even though we had a great time on our trip, we couldn't wait to get home and see Daddy! We hadn't seen him the previous Wednesday night. (Yep you guessed right; he was back at deer camp killing all those innocent deers). Micah Claire was super excited to see him. She hugged and kissed him for quite sometime when we got home. She let him bath her and even put her to sleep! I had so much free time I didn't know what to do with myself.

M.C. has really turned into a book worm. She loves to be read to! It just makes my heart melt to see these two be so in love with one another! I think the days of her being a mama's girls are slowly fading away.

Okay... I just had to take a picture and post this. I NEVER thought I would see gas be this cheap again. I know these prices will probably not last long; but I am loving them and I am loving that is doesn't cost an arm and a leg to fill up my little SUV.

14 Months old

On Election day Micah Claire turned 14 months old and I can't believe it! As much as I enjoy watching her grow; some days I wish I could just put on the brakes and slow everything down. It's hard to imagine that this time last year she was just 8 weeks old and all she did was eat, sleep, poop and sometimes smile. Now she's so full of life and energy! And some exciting news.... she's cut her top 1 year molars!

We got up a little early and took her with us to vote! She even got a sticker that said "I Voted!" We finally have enough hair to really wear a pony tail. Her daddy calls it her Bambam look (he some how gets Pebbles and Bambam confused; poor guy!)

Here she is doing her 2 favorite things; being outside and picking up rocks. (Thanks for the cute outfit Aunt Paige!!!!)

I think my husband has been preparing for Deer Season since last season ended. All last week he spent packing, cleaning his gun, and all that other stuff that deer hunters do. Micah Claire was with him every step. She watched everything he did and even tried to help out (which sometimes irritated daddy!) Well....finally Friday afternoon came and daddy headed to deer camp. On Saturday he got a big 8 point! So, we drove out Saturday night to see it and have dinner with him. (I would post pictures but they are a little gross; It reminded me why I was a vegetarian for so many years!) Here are some pictures of Micah Claire "helping" daddy and a super cute video of Shawn trying to teach her how to use a caller (bless her heart she just couldn't figure out how to make it work).

Shawn is coming home tonight for a few days and I can't wait. I've missed him but I have also missed his help! I have no idea how single parents raise kids; it's hard to do it all yourself! I know that Micah Claire can't wait to see him. I've let her sleep with me since Shawn's been gone. Every morning she lifts up all the pillows on the bed and says Daddy? I guess she thinks he's hiding under the pillows. Every time the phone rings she squeals Daddy and every time she sees a picture of him she points to it and says Daddy and then wants to kiss it. (It's so sweet!)

When Micah Claire was 10 months old we took the passy away from her. It was a pretty easy transition. Well... a few weeks ago she stopped sleeping threw the night and was cutting teeth. I gave it back to her at bed time and it worked like a charm. Well, I guess she's been hiding them in the house, so that during the day when I'm not watching she gets them out and sucks on them. Of course... it took me a while to figure this out. So, when she wakes up I take her passy and put it in my drawer till bedtime. It didn't take her long to figure out where I was putting them. These are some pictures from Sunday morning. She wanted her passy back and threw a fit for it; as you can see. I have a feeling it will be much harder this time to break her from it.

Worlds' Cutest Monkey!

We had a great Halloween this year! Nana, Poppa, Papaw, Ms. Debbie, Mimi and Poppa Mike all came over to see Micah Claire in her Monkey suit. I have to say I was worried that Micah Claire would not like wearing her monkey suit. But luckily she had no problems with it. She ran around in it all night long! Kim, Ashley and Tucker stopped by to trick-or-treat. Micah Claire and Tucker haven't seen each other since Tucker started Ms. Mae's a few months ago. But they took right back up with one another like things had never changed. They chased each other all over the house and even wrestled around a little. Micah Claire even said Tucker 3 times!!!!!!

This is the big question that I have been asked a hundred times in the last few weeks; Is Micah Claire finally going to get some candy? Well....... the answer is YES! Papaw and Ms. Debbie bought her a package of gummy Lifesavers and I let her eat them (YEA for mom!) I don't know if it was all the excitement from the night or the sugar from the lifesavers but that kid was wound up till after 10pm!
